People choosing clothes at our first Souq.

On 10 October 2025 we held our first Souq. It was the first event we held under the name Thamarat, and it took place at Vrouw en Vaart, an emancipation centre in Amsterdam.

The Souq is a free shop. We take donations from the community and sort them, and then we open the doors so that anyone who needs something can walk in, browse and take what they want.

That day there were clothes and shoes, children’s clothes, toys, accessories and household items, all of them donated, laid out on rails and tables for people to choose from.

More than 200 people came. Many people were pleased and went home happy.

This is where the Thamarat Souq began. We have held more since then; you can read about the Souq in February 2026.

Do you have clothes or toys to give? Get in touch through our contact page and our team will come and pick them up.
